Vice President
Director of Membership

Below are the descriptions of the responsibilities for each position. Please note that these positions are not limited to the following descriptions:
President - this position has been filled
- Serve as a liaison to the Alumni Association Office
- Representing the organization to JMU, the Alumni Network, and the current SGA
- Official spokesperson for the alumni chapter
- Overseeing the executive board and recruiting new executive officers
Vice President
- Assisting the president and representing them in their absence
- Managing and organizing all correspondence
- Assisting with recruitment of new executive officers
Director of Membership
- Serve as a liaison between the current SGA chapter and the alumni chapter
- Manage all members and recruit new members
- Member development and professional development
- Record keeping of all members and collaborating information on their personal lives and careers
Director of Social Events
- Coordinating and planning all social events
- Working closely with the SGA’s Director of Membership Development to plan events with the current SGA
- Communicating and collaborating with other JMU alumni chapters in order to plan social events with other members of the alumni network
Webmaster
- Organizing electronic correspondence
- Managing and updating the website, facebook page, blog, twitter, etc.
- Communicating with Alumni Association office to continually update our official alumni chapter page through JMU
Other general responsibilities:
- Need to be willing and flexible to have occasional meetings (whether in person, through the telephone, via skype, etc.)
- Must be dedicated to fill the entire term which will be from summer 2010 to summer 2011.
- At the end of a term, must be prepared to help recruit new members and transition them into their new positions.
- Must be consistent in communicating with the current SGA and be willing to make occasional trips to JMU if necessary for meetings, events, etc.
- Be flexible, dedicated, and hard-working
- Need to know how to have a little fun!
